Why did no one tell me about this show? Dang. Just found it, now I'm caught up and wanting more.

You might also want to give Yong Sheng a go, it is also based on a novel from the same author as this one, not to mention the subtitles are pretty accurate

I gave it a brief look, but I'll pass. This show's modern setting and relatively low-fantasy martial arts keeps me interested. Yong Sheng's classic ancient time period setting and higher fantasy level has become boring to me over the years. I'm sure I'll eventually drop this one, too, when he starts summoning creatures and shooting lightning (or his element of choice); that's just not what I care to see right now. From the description (which you so generously provided for us! ^_^ ) Yong Sheng also seems to be much more cultivation-oriented, which is a plot that I have grown so tired of I can't even look back at old shows of the genre that I used to love. It's entirely personal preference and I'm not trying to insult the story, setting, or style; I just can't stomach watching them anymore.

Chief can definitely kick some a$$ but I have to give it to that one bald thug because he could take a serious a$$whopping like no other lmao. Dude definitely doesn't have a glass jaw, that's even more impressive than the Chief handing out beatdowns to a whole crew by himself, especially since he kept getting back up right after like it barely affected him!! That's the main types fighters hate to fight, they don't know when to stop and if they can outlast you, then you could be in serious trouble aha.

Now granted, the Chief probably wasn't trying to seriously hurt them to the point hospital care was needed nor give internal damage, just enough to make them feel pain and never forget it. He didn't break any of their bone nor serious injuries that were life threatening and long term or life long wounds. I'm sure if he wanted to they'd be unconscious barely hanging on to life with broken bones and possible other body deformities like blindness, broken jaws, paraplegia, etc.
